We are working to address campus water analysis needs and provide additional opportunities for collaboration among water researchers at UW-Madison, by creating a Core Facility for Advanced Water Analysis. This will be accomplished by 1) acquiring state-of-the-art instrumentation to provide a complete, on campus suite of instrumentation for analysis of inorganic and organic constituents in aqueous matrices, 2) establishing a centralized access point for instrumentation used in water characterization, and 3) providing training for undergraduate and graduate students, research professionals, and faculty in use of the various instruments. The scientific expertise and instrumentation available as part of the Core Facility for Advanced Water Analysis will enable researchers across campus, no matter their background, to initiate new, cutting edge research and submit more competitive grant applications involving water analysis.
